Brad DuBois, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and therapist with experience working with adults, elderly adults, and children. I began my career working with individuals experiencing mental health crises and quickly learned that trauma was at the root of many of my clients’ symptoms. My mission has become to help clients process their trauma in order to restore hope and stability.
I identify as a gay man, and I am proud of my membership in the queer community. I am sex-positive, kink-positive, and racial-justice oriented.

My Approach
Folks have noted my calming presence and non-judgmental demeanor in therapeutic settings. I have found that coming from a place of curiosity helps to build the trust that is essential to the therapeutic alliance.

What is CPT?
My primary modality is Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an intervention for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that was adapted from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The goal of CPT is to introduce flexibility into one’s thinking about a traumatic event. CPT asks the client to investigate what beliefs they have about their trauma and about the world around them.

My Space
I see clients both in person and virtually. My office is located in northwest Austin and is designed to be comfortable and inviting. I have received all three doses of the COVID vaccine and prefer my in-person clients to be vaccinated as well.
